February Announcements:

Membership dues are due by the end of January. If you are not paid up then you are ineligible to buy raffle tickets or acquire a name tag raffle chance.

Members in good standing are the ones who may participate in Guild activities.

Currently we have 60 paid members, 5 of those are officers or committee chairs who paid with a free dues coupon. The amount collected covers our rental and operating expenses-approx. $1,476.00 annually. Administrative expenses(i.e.copies, stamps, raffle tickets, misc. certificate printing) might cost about $200.00 annually.

All educational expenses are paid directly out of our educational fund.

Name badge gift certificates are $240.00 annually.

Due to lack of participation and interest the annual picnic will be suspended this year. This can be changed by member demand and new vote.

Participation awards will be presented in December and will continue. We might consider donations of shop made projects or monetary awards-all yet to be decided. Your participation will help us decide and your enthusiasm will make the vote. Bring show and tell and sign up for community activities.

The 2 X 4 challenge will continue with new rules and a new look, award certificates will be presented for bragging rights. Again participation will decide whether this practice continues. Apathy and non participation will not cost anything, but will it enrich your woodworking experience-it is up to you.

Check out the website periodically for notices of good wood buying opportunities, member equipment sales, project ideas, new product evaluations, project work opportunities, mentoring ops and who knows what else. Read and heed. Drive some nails, cut some lumber and tell your story at show n tell.

IS anyone interested in hearing the story of other woodworkers projects, interests, life experiences. Let me know and we can start a bio record. I met a very interesting member who has more collections and projects and stories than I have ever heard. I would love to share his story with all of you. He lives right here amongst us.

Any questions, ideas-no matter how quirky you think they are, projects, or bragging welcome. Send me an email.

Thanks for letting me bend your ear.

Anne

President of EWWG
