Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackMy name is Dan Locaputo, and I am a member of the Cincinnati Woodworkers Club, (CWC) in Cincinnati, Ohio.
I invented the Automatic Flute Spacing Jig which I am trying to promote. I did a demonstration of my jig at the CWC, and many advanced woodworkers were impressed enough, and purchased my jig. Since I don’t have any middle men, I can sell my jig at a much lower cost. They are selling in some stores for $44.99.
This jig will space up to (7) seven flutes on boards up to (12) twelve inches wide, without any measuring. The jig is made of 1/4″ x 1-1/2 “anodized aluminum. There are (3) three zinc plated bushings that comes with the jig, which allows 1/4″, 3/8”, and 1/2″ flutes to be made. I am proud to say they are made in USA, and will last a lifetime.
I would really appreciate it, if you would send my web address to all of you Woodworking members. The usual cost of my jig is $30.00 plus S&H. However, for Woodworking Clubs, I am willing to sell my jig for $25.00 plus S&H, provided I can mail them in bulk to one location. This will make my handling easier, and your shipping cost, much less. Thank you.
My web address is: drlgroupllc.com My web site also shows many useful tips for the router table.

Anyone know where I can find some soft maple in large sizes? I’m putting in a new mantle and would like to do a natural edge mantle. I would need a piece about 8″x8″x8′ or 8″x10″x8′. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have an enormous 80-90 foot black walnut tree – unfortunately close to my house and the neighbors house. It is causing problems with dropping walnuts (like golf balls), and I’m going to need to have it taken down if I want peace in the neighborhood.
The tree is about 30″ in diameter. The tall straight part is about 20 feet, then it branches out at a crotch with lots of huge leader branches. My father planted the tree, probably about 35-40 years ago, and it’s never had anything “attached”. I had an arborist look at it about 5 years ago and he said it was a good, healthy tree.
I’m looking for someone that will take it down in exchange for the wood.
Are you interested, or do you know anyone that might be? If so, please reply to this e-mail and I’ll send you my contact information.

Need some help with Bonsai.
My name is Patrick Metiva.
I am not a woodworker per se, but have been bit by the Bonsai bug. So I am looking at making dai’s for the trees and rocks to sit on/in, etc. I have Birch, Maple, Cedar & Doug with all in rounds except the Doug. The rounds range from 9-10″ diameter to around 20″ with them averaging 2-3″ thick. The Doug is a slab about 5-6″ thick and 14″x36″ roughly. All of these are freshly cut.
As I am not the most patient person and cannot wait until next year for the wood to dry naturally…is there a kiln or something that I can rent/lease, pay by the sq ft, etc where I can get these and possibly some future items dried?
I am located in the Fairwood area near Renton. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Peace,
Patrick

Perkins coug74@yahoo.com
Hi, I’m Raquel Perkins and I talked to Gordon on the phone about having my 3 present bathroom doors duplicated so they look like the ones I have now that are slightly damaged.
The sizes are: left door front measures W 9 11/16 x L 21 2/16 x D 12/16; back measures W 9 5/16 x L 21 2/16 x D 3/16 (1 routered edge)
right door front measures W 9 11/16 x L 21 2/16 x D 12/16; back measures W 9 5/16 x L 21 2/16 x D 3/16 (1 routered edge)
door 3 front measures W 11 14/16 x L 21 2/16 x D 12/16; back measures W 11 1/16 x L21 2/16 x D 3/16 (2 routered edges )
Of course I would provide the doors so an exact match can be made.
I appreciate your help in this matter. I can be reached at 253-863-2706. Or email me at Raquel Perkins coug74@yahoo.com.
Thanks for responding.
I want to duplicate the doors I sent pictures of and not the shaker style. I was told the original doors etc we replaced in the kitchen were birch so, I’m assuming the doors I sent pictures of are also birch as well as the cabinet bases. Can you tell from the pictures if that is correct?
What would be the difference in price between having the doors made of solid birch versus solid maple? I plan to stain everything with Minwax Jacobean, which is a dark color. Do you have any suggestions? Also I’m not sure I know what figured grain is.
Below are photographs I have taken to help you understand the simplicity of this project.
Titles appear at the top of each photograph!!
