Text Box: Our mini-symposium featured the talents of our members and the swap meet gave an opportunity to get great deals on woodworking items. The 2 x 4 challenge showed what we could do given some friendly competition.
We put up a discussion board that we hope will garner more interest as members begin to use it. Our web site has an updated look and is, according to the feedback received, easier to navigate.
We had our annual August picnic and it was well attended and fun. And yes, we have reserved ‘our spot’ in the park Text Box:     Greetings to all members and friends of the Evergreen Woodworking Guild, and hope you all had a wonderful holiday.
The Guild is looking forward to another great year. I would say that we accomplished many of the things we wanted to achieve for last year. We tried some new programs and different ways to bring a better experience to our members and I believe we were successful.
We continued to bring a wealth of information to our members through our programs and educational Text Box: efforts. Speakers and topics covered the range from learning about local saw mills to Gary Rogowski’s approach to furniture design. We focused on different styles. We learned a lot about Greene and Greene style from Darrel Peart and many members were able to take advantage of a hands on session to learn more in depth. We learned from our own members about how to build Windsor chairs, and from that some members went on to become mentored on building their own chairs. Carol Zandell continued to amaze and confound us with her clever toys and puzzles. Text Box: ...and a Happy New Year

They are working on new production ideas for the channel, many of them incorporating viewer suggestions, for this year.
One new program is a series of craftsmen, profiled in their own shops and workspaces. We have titled the series Text Box: “Around the Shop.” The first profile was shot as pilot this summer with a wood artist – Jacques Vesery.
