Our next regularly scheduled meeting will be Monday, September 11, 2017, at the Edgewood Bible Church (not affiliated). The program will be a little different from our norm, but nothing we haven’t tackled before. The address is 1720 Meridian Ave N, Edgewood, WA. As usual, doors open at 6:30, meeting at 7pm.
EWWG will have a tool swap and a series of member run learning stations.
So first, we need to tell you to bring any tools you are wanting to move along from your crowded shops. (…we know they are full of wonderful things, now that we have had a taste with the shop tours?)
Bring planes, drills, tool boxes, squares, finishing items, wood, tools of any kind.
But there is a catch…First item:
WE WANT EVERYONE TO BRING AT LEAST ONE TOOL TO SELL. It can be any tool you chose. If that tool sells, you can specify that the proceeds go to the “EWWG Shop Start-up Fund”. We want everyone to contribute one tool to help us launch this new effort. If your tool doesn’t sell, no problem. Bring it back next year. Or when we actually have a shop!
We will be promoting this meeting as an open house for new members and will be advertising it widely on Facebook and other social media sites. We hope to have a good turnout.
The second item: We want to display some of our skills. Can you run a booth to show someone how to sharpen a chisel, use a plane, or other tips and tricks? We want you! Make a little sawdust (but bring a tarp because the church has new carpet!)
Please let me know if you are willing to do something like that. (firstname.lastname@example.org). Need to know as soon as possible in case we need to make arrangements for benches, power and the like.
It should be a lot of fun.
