Ron Schroder has worked with a special group of people and taught them how to “turn” pens, but there is no lathe involved.

His Pen Pals group have been together for over one year now. The Pen Pals range from 67 to 89 years of age. They have made over 100 pens and letter openers. No power tools are used. Instead, a sanding block is used along with hand sanding grits from 150 to 12,000.
