Our presenter for our November meeting will be EWWG Board Member and finishing expert Michael Dresdner. Michael will be hosting a presentation on “Rubbing out Finishes”.
Many of you know Michael and have seen his extraordinary ability to communicate finishing techniques to woodworkers. He is the resident finishing expert for the Woodworkers Journal magazine. In addition, he has answered several thousand finishing questions on the Woodanswers.com web site.
Of course, Michael has his own website, MichaelDresdner.com.

Michael Dresdner
Michael and his family are active with other, non-woodworking pursuits as well.
He is currently playing a character named Dr. Myers, a small town doctor and the president of the local Moose lodge. The play, a comedy farce called Leading Ladies is playing at the Tacoma Little Theatre through Nov. 16th.
Michael says this about his current play. “This is definitely one you should come see. It is lowbrow comedy, but very funny.” He adds, “The play I am in now is as simple as can be, and almost all the humor is in the form of one liners and sight gags. It is pure comic entertainment; the sort of thing TV sitcoms aspire to be but almost never are. In fact, it’s one of those plays that if you think about it too seriously, it makes no sense and is loaded with holes. Still, it is lots of fun to watch.”
Check out the http://www.tacomalittletheatre.com/ web site for more information.
Meanwhile, Michael’s wife Jane is in Macbeth at Lakewood Playhouse, his daughter Kaitlin is stage managing Blithe Spirit up in Seattle, and son Drew is singing the lead role in an opera called Il Mondo della Luna, then soon after will be the guest vocalist with the Wind Ensemble, both up in Seattle.
In short, the whole family is busy with the performing arts.
